    	    I have approached General Motors directly on the subject of car 
    discounts. They are of course interested in selling their cars to non 
    fleet people as well as to the fleet car drivers !  
    
    	    Not surprisingly, General Motors level of interest in attracting 
    non fleet car users will depend on the potential sales to such a group.
    
    	    Maybe you have considered leaving the fleet scheme. Maybe a 
    supplier deal would be a key part of such a decision. Perhaps you 
    already run your own vehicle and want the best deal you can get.
    
    	    If you wish to register your interest with me, please return the 
    following text in a mail to my account quickly. If any paragraph is not 
    applicable simply delete it. I will inform my contact in General Motors 
    of the level of interest and see what they come up with.
    
    	    Currently, this is a purely personal initiative.

    	    I am keenly aware that Digital's deal with General Motors has 
    changed the cash equivalent paid to those who now opt out of the car 
    scheme.
    
    	    If a similar discount deal was offered to individuals it would 
    provide a significant bias towards making General Motors my choice of 
    vehicle supplier for a private purchase.
    
    	    Please inform General Motors that I wish to know of the best 
    deals they can offer me, as a purchaser, as an alternative to leasing a 
    vehicle through Digital. Please be sure to provide a comparison of any 
    deal offered with that given to Digital.
    
    	    If a GM competitor offers a more favourable deal for purchasers, 
    I wish to know immediately. This will influence any decision I make 
    concerning my choice to opt out of the car scheme and purchase a 
    vehicle.
    
    	    I value Digital U.K.'s commitment to providing a choice of 
    benefits. Consequently I ask that Digital U.K. lend its full support to 
    this request. Only the provision of an equitable discount for those 
    employees who provide their own vehicle will allow me true freedom of 
    choice of car on the fairest possible basis.

    Yes I would be interested in such a deal as long as it didnt

    Well folks - the response has been so thin there is no chance of
    getting any attention from Vauxhall on the basis of numbers interested.
    So I guess the trail stops here.
