There's a yellow BMW M3 that can regularly been seen (as it speeds
past!) on the A329 Bracknell area. I did'nt like the colour at all
at first, but I like the car in general so much I would'nt complain
if it was given to me! The guy who drives the car works for BMW and
so its probably not his anyway,

| Purple is definitely the "IN" colour for all the Renault Twingo's I saw
on the Continent last month - that car is quite popular over there.
Maybe there should be a Twingo Topic.

| Maybe there should be a Twingo Topic.
By all means start a Twingo topic but as I understand it there are no
plans to make it available in the UK in the near future (if at all).
Apparently the demand for "purple" corsas is much higher than Vauxhall
expected. I wonder if this will improve the resale value of purple
corsas or have the reverse affect if it is just a 'fashion'.

| Is the "demand" the whim of Hertz, Avis, EuroDollar etc ?
I hired an Aquamarine Blue Corsa yesterday, I didnt choose the colour.
Only those who buy new genuinely choose the colour. Maybe the hire
companies want to be able to identify their cars, or perhaps they've a
keen sense of humour. I remember the lilac Avengers of years ago, they
were all fleet cars.
As for Aquamarine, not my favourite colour.

I had an aquamarine blue Astra from a hire company for a couple of
months once. The colour clashed with mud quite well, it looked
completely disgusting when it was dirty!

2175.12 | Yellow is trendy! | AIRONE::MEZZANO | What's up, doc? | Thu Nov 11 1993 15:47 | 17 |

It seems that yellow is at least trendy if not even fashionable: apart from
yellow Ferraris (is yellow second "official" colour after red?) and Lamborghinis,
I saw yellow Alfa Romeo Spiders (in the last version) with yellow hard top.
Then I attended the presentation of the last BMW 3 convertible in Rome and the
car's colour was (guess what?) yellow.
Some weeks ago Fiat released the first pictures of the new coupe' and, yes, the
colour is again yellow.
Saturday I went to see the new Fiat Punto and all the delears (at least in
Italy) were provided with test cars painted with a very unusual metallic yellow.
Anyway I like it: I was getting bored of all these metallic grey cars. And,
after all, yellow is the safest color when you are driving in the fog... ;-)

| I think Yellow is the official colour of Team Ferrari (S.F.), Red is
the racing colour of Italy. I may be wrong but the Ferrari badge
depicts a prancing horse on a yellow background...
The new trend for yellow sports cars was created by accident by RUF.
They paint their customers cars yellow and then red as it gives a
better red - one customer walked into the paint shop to see his new CTR
and liked the yellow so much that he kept it that way. His particular
car featured in quite a lot of mag.s / shows in the mid 80's and
popularised yellow as a colour - or so I'm told.

2175.15 | 70s colurs to remember!! | MANENG::POWELL | | Thu Nov 18 1993 12:49 | 13 |

Remember these ???
- Sebring Red - Bright Orange
- Daytona Yellow - Bright Yellow
- Le Mans Green - Vivid Lime Green
These are classic Ford colours for the Mk1 Capri,
I wonder if the new colurs have such racy names.
