I'm currently in the process of selecting a replacement car - I'm going to stay in the scheme, but decided to do some calculations based on GM cars and my favourite Citroen. The resultant calculation proved to be very interesting and certainly gave me food for thought. The calculations are based on a level 8/9 paying 40% tax. The basic premis is that I require ABS on my car and possibly metallic paint and electric sunroof --- no comments on my choice please ;-) Regardless, read and enjoy perhaps even comment. In the previous note, the 'total' column is the total price of the car + option AND the delivery price. The local tax office stated that the taxable benefit INCLUDED the delivery charges AND any options fitted to the car and that the LIST price NOT the purchase price was used as the basis of the tax assessment Stuart |
