>Do any Vauxhall owners have a GM car alarm ?
Yes...the full works
>If so, have you ever had it go *off* in the rain ?
No. Never just because of rain.
Have your system checked, it may be shorting out in the rain.

| Two things...
Yes, but only twice and on both occasions when the wind was really bad.
However, it did go through a phase of just going off. It did it about 1/2
dozen times over a weeek. Different parts of the country and then just
stopped.
Secondly, a very common car thief/vandal trick is to set the alram of in teh
early hours every night for a week and breaking into it on the 8th day when
nobody pays any attention to the alram.

| Problem is, if I wash the car (with the alarm activated) it is ok ?
Very confusing !
I'll try dousing the bonnet area with hose water tonight.

| If it's the wind doing it, try shutting all the vents.
Works for me.

The other day in Dec park, I set off a car's alarm just by pulling up behind
it prior to reversing into my parking spot (yes, I know, reversing...but that's
rospa for you). Now that's what I call sensitive.

| Once again, the alarm went off last night due to the rain. Need to phone the
garage and let them look at it - they will say it's ok (as usual) and I will
not be very pleased (as usual).
I suppose this garage could qualify as the worst of the century (IMHO).
Name : Gillespies of Lenzie.
Reason : Glad to take your money, but not interested in getting problems sorted
the first time around.

New Vauxhall alarm, executive 902 (coming with my Corsa as a dealer fit
option),has a new facility known as code hopping. When of these car
theive scrotes uses a frequency scanner to try to de-activate the
alarm, the 902 recognises that the transmited signal has come from an
intruders device and will then change it's frequency constantly until
the correct frequeny from the correct transmitter is recognised.
Smart eh!
Andy
That'll P!@ 'em off.

| How does it know that the correct code is coming from the wrong device ?
What happens if you lose your alarm 'thingie' the dealer/AA man get one with the
right code, but the car identifies it as an intruder and won't open up ?
