Well, I confess to being somewhat staggered. Most people in this conference including myself have something bad to say about Car Fleet. So it will come as a pleasant surprise to everyone (not least Fleet) that this note is full of praise. I put in a quotation for my new car 18 days ago. The quotes were returned in 4 days. I actually ordered off someone elses quote, the day I received the quotes back. 2 days ago I received a call from the delivery garage in Leeds, to say my car was ready and could they deliver on Thursday. (I know April Fools day!). This was inconvenient so I am having it delivered tomorrow am. So a big well done to Fleet and PHH and Fletchers of Leeds. 18 days from Quote to Delivery has to be a record. Anyone beat it? Stuart PS The car? It is a Citroen ZX 16V, metallic paint.

Having been the person who submitted the original quote for the ZX 16V, I would just like to concur with Stuart. Fleet's handling of the ordering and delivery was mercurial. My quotes were turned round in three days. I picked up the car within 8 days of sending my order into Fleet. Many thanks are due to Fleet for a job well done. Andy.

14 days from the day I put the quote in to delivery. I cant complain, a friend ordered on my quote on the same day at the same time and has got a delivery date of 18th May. So maybe it was just a fluke after all. Andy

The Team in CarFleet really enjoyed this one and want to share it with their Noter friends Dated 1 April 1993 Inserted here with Author's permission Dear Car Fleet I just thought I'd drop you a note to let you know how I'm getting on with the new car - I'm sure you're interested after the amount of time it took to get it! Well I'm happy to report that the new BMW is going great. I had a little difficulty at first, because it is wider and a little longer than the old one, however having now parked against the wall at Leatherhead a few times and attempted to get through a few width restrictions at high speed in the Croydon area, I'm pleased to say that the external measurements are almost the same as my old Audi Coupe. Any bulges that are still prominent will soon be down to size. The real benefit of the new car is the increased interior space. This has allowed me to expand my (weekend) painting and decorating company and I am now able to take on even more, including house extensions and Garage building. I could never quite get enough materials in the old car, but the new one is really great. The glove compartment will hold at least 2 yards of sharp sand, the front seats, with the benefit of height adjustment can now take 3 bags of cement. (I've stopped using unbagged cement as this kept setting the handbrake permenantly on!). My scaffolding fits very neatly through the larger sunroof whilst the spacious boot can take 250 bricks or 7cwt of aggregate. On this last point, my labourer Michael, was a bit miffed that there was no rear cigarette lighter as he usually plugs the cement mixer into this. All in all though it's a great car, but not quite so easy to handle on the building site due to the lower body shell, but that's a small point. Many thanks for your efforts in getting this new car for me and if you should need any building work doing (or a patio laying) you know where to come! Regards PS - Mick has managed to get the cement mixer going by rigging some contraption to the power steering so everything's okay.
