My lease car is developing rust on the OSR door. It's a seam fault. I rang up fleet to see how to tackle this. They say lease Vauxhall's are only covered for 12 months on rust (mine's 18 months old). If I want it fixed, the cost centre has to pick it up! I thought Vauxhall's offered a six year anti-corrosion warranty, so why are we getting less under the scheme? Oh well, PHH will just have to put up with a rusty car when it goes back in 18 months, if the door is still attached :-) /Dave.

Interesting, that might be why PHH get a good deal. Mark. | |||||

I know when I had a lease BX it too had a 6 year rust warrenty, but you had to have regular inspections that cost money! I tried to have the first inspection done and the book stamped (I was thinking of buying it at the end) but the lease company refuse to pay. Obviously a rusty car has little effect on the trade value when they came to sell them. "How much for 36 Vauxhall Astras, 24 Ford Serrias and 12 Rover 200s? Rusty?..Nah. 80k? Hmmm?" Dave Dave |
