Hi, Has anybody had a new style leased Astra delivered? If so which dealer did it come from? /Martin.

1699.1 | How much headroom. | CYCLIC::TURNER | Fri Jul 24 1992 12:54 | 12
Is there anybody in DEC park who has a new astra and can let me try it for headroom this lunch time ? I need to hire a car and the choice available is either a 1.4 escort or a 1.4 astra. I know that the escort roof is too low for me. Thanks, Barrie.
1699.2 | New AStra = less headroom... | CMBOOT::DELANYS | Fri Jul 24 1992 13:41 | 16
I had an 'old' (blob version) Astra SRi till Xmas, and even with sunroof, there was bags of headroom for me -- and I'm 6'1"" with a long body! When the new Astra came out, I sat in a 1.4LX which we were going to get for my wife, and with the standard sunroof the headroom was back down to that of an Escort: i.e. my head was hard against the sunroof surround. Admittedly I sat in an example that was part of the 'launch batch' (according to the salesman), so perhaps they've changed it since then. I strongly suggest you sit in an Astra to check.
