Toze,
I think the point is that it may be more suitable to reply to a note
discussing the car you want more info on, rather than creating a new
topic each time.

Greg you assumed wrong !! I had done a dir /title !! but found that
the last entry on each of those notes were quite old. They range from
22-Aug-89 to 23-Aug-91, they DO NOT cover the areas I wished to discuss
nor do they discuss the comparisons between the two cars. I could have
done a reply to an existing note, but realistically how many members
will look through the total contents of a Conference. Besides,
peoples ideologies change and I thought of starting a new subject
which was specifically addressed to owners of both cars or those who
test drove both models.
I'll just have to test drive both models, probably more than once !!
what a shame..............
Regards,
Toze

Why not just do a 'next unseen' ("," on keypad) and you will be taken
to the next note you haven't looked at. If you've just started then do
a "set seen /before=yesterday" so you mask off notes which you may
consider to be out of date and only see the most current notes.

| Sorry if it was an aggressive note, Toze, I was in a hurry. I wouldn\t
worry about adding replies. Look at the date the Renault 5 Turbo note
was created, and then look at all the replies!
Most people will reply in a topic, if they use the next unseen command.
Try it and see, you may even like it :^)

| I have leased a BMW 316 (Old body), Mercedes 190 and now a Mercedes
190E 1.8 which is comming up to 30000 miles. None of these cars are
balls of fire for performance but I want comfort, quality, reliabilty
and safety. The 316 was not replaced as the road holding in the wet was
lethal and reliability was indifferent.
I like the Mercedes for a number of reasons. It is a very quiet car,
several passengers have commented on this. The ride is excellent
neither wallowy or like a skateboard. Reliability has been very good
with no unscheduled servicing in the last 3 years on both Mercedes. The
Mercedes is widely praised for saftey though I'm pleased to say I have
not tested this. The BMW felt like a quality car but didn't always act
like one. I do over 30000 miles a year mostly on motorways or fast A
roads. Here, the Mercedes is at it's best. Seperate heater controls for
each side of the car and seats filled with wool rather than foam are
details that make the differnce.
However, no one makes an ideal car. The gearchange is average and fuel
consumption of 30 mpg is very ordinary.
