I visited the Autosports Show at the NEC on Saturday (having missed
it last year I was determined to go this time). I really enjoyed it,
lots of racing cars on display from all categories, plus a few
celebrities (Messrs. Hunt and Walker were doing their bit on Saturday
and I found it quite entertaining).
The new Allard sports car looks 'a bit space-agish' -- seen the piccies
in Autosport ??
Just one interesting thing relating to this... In Autosport magazine
the report indicates that 'Allard have a staff of 24 and are based in
Chineham, Hampsire'. Is this the Chineham near Basingstoke or is there
another one somewhere in Hampshire ?
Anyone else visit the show ?
What were your thoughts ?

Yes I was there on Saturday as well. I thought Murrays explanation on
how he sometimes misses commenting on a major incident very amusing
although it leads me to think that the Beeb are trying do the comentary
on the cheap!!.
I thought the Allard to be very sexy, but I'm not sure if we will see
it at Le Mans this year. Another head turner was the Schuppan 962CR,
It looked to be extremely well finished, but then again it should for
750,000 quid.
I was disappointed that a whole hall was given to karting as well as an
arena outside. I didn't venture outside though. Evidently there were
"Funny Car burnouts" happening outside as well, but when I heard the
announcement, but then no noise I decided it couldn't be anything too
serious.
Overall I think it was over priced for a show that could be "done" in
about 3 hours.
