| Withers are bloody extortionate!!
They have bought just about the last of every RS2 bit then doubled the
price on it! Thats why i`m searchinhg elsewhere in the universe!

| I found an advert in a Classic car mag avertising new and second hand
spare parts for MK I & MK II Escorts and MK I Capris
SHAWS Classic RS components

I also remember seeing an advert in the Motoring News for new panels
for Escorts and Capris and that the company were using Ford original
jigs and presses (I'll see if I can dig it out if you are interested?).
PS. (I'm restoring a MK II RS 2000, do you know any trimmers where
I can get my recaros repaired ?)

Any decent upholsterer can retrim your seats. The difficult bit is
getting the beta cloth to cover them with. I don't know a supplier off
hand but i know a man who does!

could help as the advert reads :-

I Tried a trimmer at the weekend and you were exactly right. He could
do the job but he couldn't get the material to match. I did try Withers
who wanted 66 quid plus VAT for a square metre !!!!. Also I learned
that their are various shades of brown (Bit Cloc, Cloc brown, and Tan)
Do you know how to identify which is which? I Tried the identification
panel under the bonnet which said I had beige !!!
PS. I would be very greatful of the name of another supplier of
the beta cloth, other that Withers.

What colour paint and year is your RS2?
What colour would you say that your interior is?
Is it possible that your car has been stolen and recovered, with the
interior missing and replaced with a different colour?

| I saw tan seats at the weekend at Rallye Spares in Peterborough
and it looks like very light brown but not biege
The car is Black and registered in 1980
I have now bought some very good back seats of which I intend to give to
the trimmer for use of covering the front seats. (30 Quid from Rally
Spares)
PS. Rallye Spares just moved and have an excellant set up will loads
of good condition new and second hand parts.
