I want to be able to use my Airband receiver (AR900UK) in my car and so I bought a cable and adapters from a local TANDY store that would take the O/P from the headphone socket of the radio and plug directly into the "CD Walkman" input of the Compact Disc player. I borrowed an external 'mag mount' aerial and found it works ok except for an annoying clicking/clunking sound at a very regular beat (about 2 per second). I eventually traced this to the cars anti theft system which apparently still seems active even when the car is being driven, or when idle and the alarm system is not activated. I cant find a quick way to disable and enable the anti-theft system (which isn't surprising !) Does anyone have similar problems or ideas to overcome it ? BTW the car is a Vauxhall Carlton CDX. Thanks - John

Hi, How did you get on? I have a PRO32A which I use from the rubber duck, but would like to set up properly. What type of mag mount ariel are you using? Is it a proper scanner one? Andy. |
