    I'm following up on a partial conversation.......
    
    Does anyone know of a company called Alpinaire, and if so what do they
    do (to do with Cars). I guess they are in the greater London area
    somewhere.

    I think you're probably talking about air-conditioning people....
    
    There's a firm called Alpinair in the sort of St Margaret's/Twickenham/
    Wimbledon area (I think I've seen them from the train...), and I'm sure
    they do air-con.

    I'm rather late in seeing this note but can confirm that Alpinair is a
    firm that fits air-conditioning systems.  
    
    I had one fitted to an Audi by them three years ago and had lots of
    trouble with it (just in case you were thinking of doing anything
    similar).  The fitting was arranged through Audi but neither side would
    take onwnership of the regular problems that occured.
    
    I've got rid of the Audi now so it's just history.
