1356.0. "Flogging's too good...." by TRUCKS::SMART (Beware the passing bandwagon) Mon Feb 04 1991 13:14

    <<Climb on soapbox>>

So where was Mr Plod this morning? Tucked up in the station canteen
whilst that seasonal cretin, Frosty the Idiot took to the road.

There they were, tearing up and down the motorway in their mobile
igloos. You know the sort: they scrape about an A4 size window
in the ice covering the windscreen and off they set, totally oblivious
to other road users because all the other windows still have about
    -5 of frost on them.

Prosecuting them is too good. They should be made to walk to work
    in this weather 8*)

These people never have an accident .... they cause them!!

1356.3Strange you should say that..HEWIE::RUSSELLWell, it was here a minute ago...Mon Feb 04 1991 13:5613
as I was driving off the estate this morning, I go past a T junction
where I'm on the top bar of the T, so to speak.

and a pratt in an Audi 100 stopped on the give way line to let the car
in front of me past, and then pulled out in front of me! It's the nearest
to home I've had cause to thank ABS so far.... he hadn't cleaned his
side windows properly.

Fortunately he stopped, and I didn't skid, but it didn't do my blood
pressure any good, and the kids learned a couple of new words to use
in the playground!

re .0

guy 2 doors down the road from me, got up and the car was very iced up.
Started his Sierra up, switched on the windscreen wipers, stood back and watched.

3/4 hour later when we came back he was still there waiting for the ice
to de-frost!!!
