| .1 They review it once in a blue moon !
Which happens to occur every three months!!
The allowance for people on less than level 8 who are authorised
for a company car (whatever the correct words are) get a basic Vauxhall
Cavalier 1.6 L or Sierra 1.6 L as the base car. This base car price
gets reviewed every 3 months. All quotes are then based on a price
above this base car.
What happens once in a "pink" moon is the company decide that the
level 8 and above supplements need adjusting, because the level
8 allowance that used to buy a Cavalier CD 2.0 (e.g.) can now only
stretch to a 2.0 GL....

1180.3 | They do frequently revise them | UKCSSE::RDAVIES | Live long and prosper | Fri Aug 03 1990 10:42 | 22 |
| I seem to remember that they revise the base car contribution every 3
months, but only review the value paid out to those that take-the-money
annually.
The amount just went up in July, the 'base car' value is now 3000 +vat
(3450). Although currently most new quotes on the scheme still seem to
be based on the old value. The second value you show seems to be an
anomalie, the differntial is higher than that quoted on the memo
announcing the supplement increase.
It would be interesting to see what car fleet say about this.
I am actually in the situation to which you refer; When I ordered my
car, the quote had just come through with the previous supplement (
4480/1059, diff= 3421; - vat = 2974) I don't know whether the new
differntial or the old one will be applied when I take delivery. ( My
reasoning is that what I accepted was the quote from the lease company,
which is the higher of the two figures, the differntial is worked out
internally)

| Richard, Re: .3
A collegue here was in a similar situation in February. He put a quote in for a
Golf GTI and between ordering the car and when it was delivered the allowance
went up. As the car had not been delivered yet he contacted car fleet and
personnel to arrange to get the ajustment made to the amount he had to pay as
the difference was about 100 pounds. I don't know if this adjustment would have
been made automatically, but its certainly worth chasing up !
Thanks for your comments.

The car allowance DOES get reviewed every 3 months to take into
account any manufacturers price increases/interest rates, etc.
Obviously if there has been nothing happening in the market
place then the allowance remains the same.
The Level 8 and above supplement is a completely separate issue
and is I believe reviewed annually.
Any new cars delivered on or after the effective date of
1st August will be subject to the new allowance and each driver
price will be AUTOMATICALLY adjusted to reflect the new rate.

1180.6 | Do I get a refund! | HAMPS::JORDAN | Chris Jordan, London Technology Group, UK | Tue Aug 14 1990 18:31 | 11 |
| .5 1st August will be subject to the new allowance and each driver
.5 price will be AUTOMATICALLY adjusted to reflect the new rate.
Does that mean that I will be charged more (or preferably less!)
than I agreed on my quote??
(Quote / ordered in early July, delivery in October).
I notice the latest quotes for an equivalent car to the one I ordered
are coming out about 50 cheaper - can I get a re-quote AND STILL
KEEP THE OCTOBER DELIVERY ??

1180.7 | increase in december? | HAMPS::MADELEY_T | | Wed Aug 15 1990 12:51 | 6 |
| Anyone know if there was an increase in the car allowance around
December last year - if so by how much?
Cheers,
Spike.

1180.8 | Just 2 quotes ? | COMICS::SHELLEYR | Can hearses under-take ? | Thu Aug 16 1990 19:19 | 9 |
| Another thing I'd like clarification on is the number of quotes you are
allowed before ordering a car on the scheme.
I understand that you can have 2 quotes. Does this mean 2 quotes
period, or once the quotes have expired and you still haven't ordered
you can submit further quotes ?
Thanks, Roy
