I've just got my company car and now want to sell my own personal car before my family (sister etc) get too comfortable in it! The car on the whole is in very good condition, low mileage etc except for one thing...the paintwork. I used to leave it every weekday at the local railway station car park, which happens to run parallel with the tracks. The problem is that spray(dust etc) from the track lands on the car and then gets baked into the paint. Net result white cloudy marks on the paintwork (original colour was rosso red), these marks are very rough to touch and impossible to get off during normally cleaning and waxing. May queries are:- 1) Has anybody else suffered similiar problems, and 2) Any remedies to rid the car of these marks. Regards Sean

FWIW I saw a TV news article a couple of months ago about a woman who had suffered the same problem as you, she was trying to take BR to court for damages but they said that the rail dust could not cause the problem, and if it did why hadn't they had any more complaints ! I dont know how far the case went or whether she got anything out of BR, but it might be worth a try. M. | |||||

Yes to T-cut. But. Try it on a small inconspicuous area first ... Just in case there are any jokes. And don't use too much/too coarse a grade .. |
