Maybe I should put this in "Seen in Passing" but....
On the M6 Today a bright red Audi 80E (So what huh?) With a badge on
the back proclaiming a 2.0i engine !
This was brand new G reg. and had Genuine Audi badges.
Have they started making a 2.0 for the 80 if so I might get one now.

| 765.7 | * LEXUS * | ESDC2::MUDAN | Testing. Testing. 1-2-3 | Fri Aug 17 1990 13:33 | 17 |
This week, Tuesday, at Heathrow Airport, a brand new LEXUS. These are
supposed to be the first model in 'Toyota's Luxury Division' and have
received quite hansome advertisement :
4 litre, multi-cam, 24v, 0-60 in 6 secs etc...
What I saw look quite good but not quite 'the Merc look-a-like' that
the adverts portray. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to examine
the interior, or witness, in action, any of it's advertised wonderful
electronic-wizardry -- claimed to recall ( at a touch of a button )
the predefined settings for the DRIVING SEAT, DOOR MIRRORS, SEAT BELT
HEIGHT LEVEL *AND* STEERING WHEEL LEVELS.
Could these features set the standard(s) for the other 'Luxury Cars'
or are they 'gimmicks' Toyota are using to attract customers ?

I thought Mercedes already did this ?
I remember when a chauffeur at my old firm showed me the new company
limo which was a 500 series, and one of things he showed off was
the 'wriggling' drivers seat resetting itself to his preference
after I'd played with all the controls.

I saw one at the weekend. I thought it looked a bit like an
overgrown Accord (new style).
On the subject of similarites, I think the new Accord looks
very like a Hyundai Sonata, or should that be the other way
round?
