| If there are any AIR_COOLED fans out there who have not found the
conference for air_cooled cars, then it is called:
IOSG::AIR_COOLED
There are notes on most air cooled cars,( not all Beetles ) such
as Variants, beetles, corvairs, porsches, etc, although
none on 2CV's funnilly enough. It is worth a read, as there are
alot of problems/gripes discussed aswell as usefull modifications
to your cars, which could affect your beetle etc.

Any bug fans know if BUG JAM is on this year ?. It was previously held
at exit ?? off the M1.

Santa Pod.

When we went down to Lyddon on the 17th June there were lots of bugs
around the Canturbury area - could that have been it?

| Bug Jam was held the weekend before last near the milton Keynes
turn-off on the M1 at Santa-pod raceway.
I went there myself, having attended the past 2 years events.
For a fuller story, I am writing a short article for the deputy editor
of VW Motoring, who went there on the Sunday to get Pictures for the
magazine, and took 3 and a half hours to get in!
It was in short, very, vv,v,v,v,v,v big.
The queue to get throught the gates was 2 and a half hours long, and
the queue to get out took us 4 and a half hours, we were the lucky
ones, as we started comparitively close to the entrace to the rest.
35,000 people were said to attend, the organisors expecting in the
region of 15,000 !!.
Saterdays drag racing was good, and there were some new show cars this
year which were out of this world!, including roofless nitros injected
type 3's, 3 and a half litre rover powered bugs, and fastbacks, etc.
Sundays racing was missed by most people, as there was a panic by most
people to get out when they saw the queue!. In short, I shall not be
going next year unless it is tickets only !.

| Sorry I have only just seen this conference
Am in urgent need next year of a VW BEETLE CONVERTABLE for hire would
also be interested to know if anyone has one for sale.

Yes I ahve finally decided that I am going to get married. having done
much huming and haring it will soon arrive.
However there is an urgent need !!!
I have laid a provision that we use a Volkswagen Beetle Convertable for
the wedding car.
Ever since I had my first car I have always wanted this car to be mine
but the cost has been so varst that I have only been able to look at
them from afar.
So the qestion is
PLEASE DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A VW CABRIOLET BEETLE (PREFERABLY CARMAN
GHIA) THAT I CAN HIRE FOR A WEEKEND AND GET THIS MARRIAGE OF TO A GOOD
START
I should be very grateful for you answers.

| VW is giving away copies of a nice history book - An Idea That Made History.
Just write to them and request it. You can also send along the VIN of your
VW(s) and they will tell you the production date, delivery date and place,
engine number, etc.

| This years Beetle Bash will be held on 21/22/23 June at Long Marston
near Stratford-upon-Avon. There will be the usual VW stuff including
drag racing (saw a Polo drag-racing last year), shows, displays,
auto-jumble and opportunities to sell your rusty, unreliable,
VWs/Porsches. There is also entertainment in the evenings (last
year The Prodigy played). This year it will probably be the largest VW
festival anywhere in the world, so purchasing tickets in advance is
a very good idea. The centrepiece of the festival is 'Dub Henge', a
scale model of stonehenge mad out of Beetles and beetle parts.
Be there or be the sort of person who isn't interested.
