<<< MARVIN::DISK$ROBIN:[NOTES$LIBRARY]CARS_UK.NOTE;1 >>> -< CARS_UK conference >- ================================================================================ Note 451.0 AUDI Coup GT No replies LKPDEE::WALLIN "Hasse (Hans), Serv.Indstr.Eng.@LNK" 21 lines 17-JAN-1989 08:06 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, I've recently bought an AUDI Coup GT '84. Half a Quattro ;-) It seems to be a quite nice car, almost a _real_ sportscar. It has the famous 5 cylinder engine (130 hp) with lots of torque, it's injected, but doesn't have any fancies like 4 valves per cylinder or anything like that. Performance is OK, 0-100 km/h in 8.7 seconds according to the factory, but road handling is more impressive than that ... I've tested it on some snowy roads, and it goes great through the curves ! Top speed is about 200 km/h according to factory. Are there any more AUDI Coup / Quattro owners tuned in ? What are Your impressions, and experience of this car ? /Hans_Wallin

450.17 | INFO ON OLD COUPE ? | VLOMFG::VANDERDEURE | The Fool on the Hill | Fri Oct 26 1990 17:48 | 12 |
I'm seriously considering the purchase of a Coupe GT (old chassis), I've got a couple of questions for the owners : 1/ The old coupe looks bigger/more space than the new one, is it actually ? 2/ The 2.2 ltrs /136 BHP type sounds like the nicest one according to previous notes, the question is that I am very much after long 5th gears, like the ones featured on AUDI 100's (approx 3000 RPM at 140 Km/h), does the coupe feature the same type of gearbox or rather the sporty/short type ? Thanks for your info, Pierre | |||||
450.18 | Audi Coupe help please | AYO112::WARREN | The man with no plan | Tue Jun 14 1994 13:22 | 19 |
Folks, I have looked through the audi notes but they dont seem to have the info I am after... I am thinking of buying an 86 C plate 2.0 gt, (which has a service history, is well priced, genuine, and very clean), but before I decide I would like to know what some of the parts would cost, eg for an exhaust, alternator, shockers etc. I have had an insurance quote, and it isn't really too bad, although the 1.8 is 150 pounds cheaper. Can anyone supply any info, and which of the 2 cars is the better ?? Thanks, Warren |
