Does anybody reading this notes file have any experiance, good or
bad, of 4WD vehicles. I know there is a 4WD notes file but that
one seems to contain US only models and doesnt have anything on
some of those that are quite common here such as the Daihatsu.
I like the look of the Daihatsu Four Trac Turbo but that is a bit
expensive second hand as it hasnt been around that long.
The Suzukis have very hard suspension, or the one I had a ride in
did, which gave me backache after only a short trip.
What about the Range Rover ?. Its been around for sometime now and
a good example can be picked up at a reasonable price, this means
secondhand spares such as engines can be picked up as well which
will help reduce running costs.
Land Rovers are very good utility vehicles but I am more interested
in vehicles that are aimed mostly for use on the road with ocassional
off road and towing duties.
Any comments ?.

You'll be lucky! :-)
I'll ask my brother next time I speak to him, he has a lot of contacts
in the Midlands for all Landrover parts, new and second hand.

Elaine,
I am based in Bristol, and live in South Wales (Specificaly Bridgend)
but have got relatives in Liverpool so transport/collection etc would
be no problem I think.
I can't really afford even a S/H one at the mo, but if a good deal was
around it might be worth it.
Thanks,
Meic.P.

Anyone got any sensible recommendations for something 4wd that is a) capable of pulling a laden 2-horse trailer safely b) economical enough to do 500+ miles per week in c) costs no more than 10k for a reasonably new example JJ. | |||||
