| Whittemore-Durgin is a stained glass supplier/fabricator in Rockland,
Massachusetts. They have a workshop there with an outstanding
craftsman who both repairs stained glass and does custom work.
We have had some stained glass repaired there and have had them
do a custom-made Tiffany-style lamp for our dining room. Fantastic
workmanship and very reasonable prices.

I know of a couple stained glass shops, but for the life of me, can't
think of their names now.
Ther's one in Westboro, in the Julio's shopping mall behind the
Abdow's restaraunt, their main store is on Main St. in Framingham.
There's also one in Groton on RT 119, this is/was a mom and pop
operation that does very good work. They did some work for me that
I was very pleased with, and I know they do a lot of repair work
for churches.
I'll try to post the name of the place in Westboro after lunch.
BTW, where are you located???????

| There's a stained glass shop just up the street from the LUcky Garden
restaurant in Cambridge (on Concord Ave, maybe???) that does nice
stuff. Probably $$$ though, and I don't know if they would do repairs.

that his wife still does stained glass work. Give him a call. I've seen her
work...very nice.

Sorry for the delay in getting this info back, the place in Westboro
is called Stained Glass lighting and Design. I don't know if they
do repairs but the stuff they make is very nice.

326.7 | Where to get SGO? | MARX::TASCHEREAU | Whatever it takes. | Mon Jan 11 1988 15:12 | 8 |
| I recently saw an add for a product called Stained Glass Overlay.
I think I've seen something like this at a home show before and
was very surprised at how good it looked. Because I don't particularly
care for the cost and labor of replacing certain windows in my house
with real stained glass, I'd like to look into SGO further. My
question is, has anyone seen SGO for sale anywhere? I can't find
it anywhere. Thanks for any info.

re: .-1
I don't know where you can get SGO locally but if you go to the
home shows it should be there. also don't be too shocked when you
find out it costs nearly as much as real glass.
by the way I do stained glass as a part time business. For details
call DTN 276-8009.

my house.
Does any one know of places that offer classes in these subjects,
in the Nashua area.
Thanks,

| Renaissance Glass in Nashua sells glass and does classes. There
is also a good class at the Manchester Institute of Arts and Science.

| As a recent graduate of the Manchester Institute glass class, I'd recommend
it.
I hope your window is repaired by now. If not, there was a company
at the home show that did antique repairs - glass, paintings, whatever
- museum quality (they had letters from the Musuem of Fine Arts,
ect. From instructors and books on glass, doing repairs is tedious
and very involved. None recommended doing it, rather contract to
a professional.

| Gee,
Lot's of interest in stained glass it seems. Anyone still following this
topic I wonder?
I too do stained glass (mostly as a hobby and sometimes on commission). Is
there a conference somewhere specifically dedicated to crafts, hobbies? I
know there is not a stained glass conference because I check periodically.
Is there anyone out there who does stained glass (repairs, restorations,
etc. out there and interested in talking about it, either in this topic or
somewhere else?
Anyone need a window?

| Hi, I do stained glass as a hobby, I've been doing it for 4 years
and still have many things that I want to do for myself. I haven't
done any work for commission althought I've thought about it.
I get all my supplies at M&D Stained Glass in Littleton MA. I've heard
from a few people that she is the cheapest shop around for custom
work. She does restorations and repairs also. I'm always checking out
her work, she does a fabulous job.
If you live in the area and need some custom stained glass done,
check out her prices.

| Hello to you too. I do stained glass strictly as a hobby (I'm already
6 or 7 years behind on my house projects). I took a class from
Renaissance Glass when they were in Amherst NH - before they moved
to Nashua. Taught me everything I wanted know.
